I just talked to jabberjaw for like an hour about this. I showed her all the links and photos and sites and everything. I showed her the people posting from nepal, everything. I am getting her links to all the sites where he has scammed and also she is going to tell MJ that this is bigger than he thinks. I told her the main purpose in this is for the shop to come out ahead. She told me she could put a donate button on MJ's website so the viewers there can donate.I gave her your paypal address. I need more info from the owners and you guys on TR though. She wants to do a spot promoting the BBQ fundraiser on the air. This is about to blow up WAY more than it already has.

Ask her for a clip of audio from Wednesday when they talked about this. I'll be happy to host it, shoot me a PM if you get it.

She was also talking about promoting whatever you guys decide to do with the car, whether it be an auction, or smashing it or whatever, selling raffling. I am just keeping her posted on things that I find out.

Lets hope MJ appreciates this. I'm still leery as to how much attention he's really willing to put into this. From what I heard on the station, he has tried to be very non-bias on the whole thing, and I think that with the situation still up in the air, he doesn't want to choose sides yet.

Let's hope he sides with the legit local business owners.

That's not really a small mistake, that's a pretty huge mistake to let him rack up a 16000 bill without much in the way of deposits. I am pretty sure the owner knows how big of a mistake it is now.

I don't know him, the only facts I have on the case is the same as everyone else viewing this board has based on the business owner's side of the story. The first thread said he continued to do it because he believed the kid had the money and his shop could really use the cash, which made me believe he was really desperate for cash if he believed the grandfather BS. The story in his own words doesn't really make me feel sorry for him. The dude got easily hussled.

Good luck to japworks on trying to rectify the mistake, I doubt they will get any sort of compensation from the kid. I forsee bankruptcy in the kid's future and the financial institution that mom used for the lien on the car will try to repo it. That is going to make an interesting legal situation. This will probably end up in limbo for years. Hurting japworks more than anyone really. At least they will get some cheap advertising for all their troubles.

You obviously didn't read the entire thread, because a mechanic's lien outranks a bank's lien, so the mechanic would get the car and the bank would get whatever collateral the mother put up in relation to the car because she doesn't have it any more.

true but she informed me that He loves talking about things that interest him and from what i know he is a car guy. All we want out of this is for the shop to come out ahead, he doesnt have to take sides for that to happen, he just has to stress the point that we cant let another business go down to scammers. and that we all need to help. I cant really afford to send money paypal so this is how im helping.

Wow, Just Wow. i spent the latter part of the AM reading this.

i found this posted up on s2ki but im an active member over on http://www.florida street scene.net street scene.net. It simply amazes how stupid people can be. I will be glad to send you guys a donation later today. Also, Its really impressive and heartening to see so many people coming together for a cause.
