i don't know what the drivers for " Car and Driver " are thinking. you ever see them do the old school shoot outs? guys are running 13's stock and Car and Driver post a time of 14.6 for the car. there smoking the tires down the track and then post the times. like that's all the car can do.

i don't think there are any real surprises here. that said, roll racing a dsg transmissioned car is like competing in the special olympics, even if you win, ....etc etc

im happy with the outcome. but im tired of seeing both of these cars being compared.

corvette vs skyline
v8 vs v6tt
rwd vs awd
manual vs automatic
2 seater vs 4 seater

besides having 2 doors and the ability for both cars to go fast, i don't see any other comparison.

The best part of all that is that the Z06 wins repeatedly, AND the Corvette looks much, much better. Makes the Z06 an easy choice.

The only advantage i see is the Z06 cant use a simple $10 mbc to go faster.I would be curious to see a heads up no air filter/open exhaust run between the two with the Gtr at the stock twins max boost and the z06 with a reflash.Also both cars on stock factory tires/weight.That to me shows true stock to stock runs with factory parts and a little tweaking.I was personally able to knock of almost 2 seconds and gain 6 mph in the 1/4 with just a $10 mbc and the stock turbo on my dsm.On the subject of the race its not fair since the z06 isnt the base model corvette.

I want to see the driver of this z06 go with the driver of the gtr on the gtr's environment, circuit tracks.
I wanna see if the cheetah can out swim a fish in water now, after the cheetah beat the fish on land.

its a fair comparison because they are roughly the same MSRP.

as for the video...you guys would call BS if it was the other way around...given that their CCC style footage is a piece...

if drag is your thing (and its not really mine) then wait till you see actual times at a track with a tree.

not to mention the modes in the GTR...if he had it set to street then i would expect this to happen.

dont get me wrong, i love the Z06, but i want to see actual info not arab ricers with lots of money.

come on dude bench racing is all i have, i wont ever own these cars anyway...or at least anytime soon. maybe i can pick up a used one in 5-10 years
