Aww no more NOPI this year
Wrecked Magazine Blog - Drifting’s #1 source of information and stupid! » NOPI Drift is no more!
July 16, 2008 It is with great regret that NOPI Motorsports, LLC has suspended operations for the summer and fall 2008. This will include NOPI Drag Racing Series, NOPI Drift Series and the NOPI NATIONALS Motorsports Supershow. The company is undergoing an organizational restructuring in light of severe adverse affects of a disappointing spring season. The economy and unfavorable weather resulted in underperformance of all spring events. Michael Meyers, president of NOPI Motorsports, reports that NOPI Motorsports is working with its clients and sponsors to minimize the uncertainty going forward. So they skuttled the rest of the season because they weren't making enough money?
Um then that effectively guarantees no chance of making up the money.
WTF kind of business model is that?2011 Subaru Forester - the daily driver kid hauler

NOPI is and has been a joke for years anyways. It only attracts the automotively-retarded.
It does suck for the competitors that built cars to compete in the series, but it is what it is.

I wonder if their business model was based on it. Every week I recieve more and more emails with their special sales and the parts aren't anything you would buy to build a car for speed.
Even their stupid show which when you FFWD through all the girls and people who like to body kit their cars showed maybe a few minutes total of the guys who were putting a lot of time and effort into their racing to get down the track and win.
I think it was a matter of poor looking ahead in their business model.if you can only race me in a straight line then whats the point

I see people out there spending money on the car to improve it … If you spend half that effort just working on your driving skills, making you and the car work together as a team, then you’ll go faster – period. To make the car go a second faster on the track takes a lot more energy and money than making yourself drive it one second faster.– the late Tom Thrash SCCA Solo E Production
