Wow... I heard about it, but did not see it.
That was horrific, the only saving grace was that he probably died very quick.
RIP
It's rare when somebody dies at those top levels with all of the safety gear and amazingly built crash cages, but there was no way around that one.....

the good thing about it was..he was more then likely knocked out from the engine going boom..so his last memory on earth was him going threw the traps and reaching for the chutes and then no more..
the wreck is just sickening..you see the engine or rear of the car shoot up in the air like a rocket when he hits the wall..very sad

Anyone hear any info about the cameraman that allegedly died in the accident as well? Speed and ESPN's sites haven't mentioned anything as far as I could find. It'd be pretty insensitive if he'd passed as well and there was no mention of it. Those trackside camera guys put their lives in jeopardy every day as well.

I do not think it was a cameraman... but I heard it was a photographer. At any given national event, there could be 20 or 30 photographers out there and none of them would be associated with ESPN.
I don't want to watch that video again... once is enough for me, I couldn't forget it now if I wanted to.

R.I.P. Scott. I just met him, Doug, and Connie at the last Gator Nationals. Terrible loss. Like others have said though. He was doing what he loved and what he did best.
