I'm well aware of how a CAI works.
The tests/dynos in that article were performed with the hood closed so the SRI was getting no air flow at all.
In the end it comes down to personal opinion. If you feel safe running a CAI, and would like the extra 1-2 HP if you were to experience heatsock on a SRI,
.
If you want an intake that puts out a deep tone, will yield you decent numbers, without any risk,
.

I would just play it safe and get an SRI, since this is FL with all the rain that goes down. Or, get a CAI, and cut it so that you can make it either or with a coupler. Thats what I did when I had my Si.

A friend removed his splash guards and every other component to intentionally hydro lock his engine. 2 rainy seasons and countless puddles later, and the car still rides fine. He drives it like he stole it, through puddles.
