New driver, parents' policy, fairly utilitarian car, BASIC (and I mean basic) coverage, you're looking at about $160/month. Good student discount (B average or better) will cut that to about $130, depending on your company. I'm 19, have basic coverage, no accidents, no tickets, and have been driving for 3 years now, and my insurance is still about $135.

I went from a 4-door Rodeo to my coupe, and it only cost me $1 more every month. I actually got quoted for an NSX, and it only went up $100 every six months. I <3 my insurance company
