Dont get a scion.

You could get an SI, but I doubt you'll be able to afford the comptech set up for it, but if you can then go for it. I also second the Mazda3, but if you can go for the Mazdaspeed3, those are pretty sick.

they never said anything about me not being able to ADD a blower or turbo. (if it doesnt void warrantee) The reason they dont want me to get one that has one is the insurance, if I add one, the insurance doesnt necessarily go up... thats the point. im a 21 year old male, insurance is a bitch no matter what i get...

Get a 8th gen Civic Si 06+ and throw on a Comptech Supercharger which does not void warranty. 275 whp.
this sounds pretty tasty

see if your parents would go for a certified pre-owned car, at $21K that would open the possibilities quite a bit

well with the constraints your parents wisely put on purchasing you a new car, perhaps you should just suck it up and enjoy the free new car. So quit whining about it or go buy something with your own money.

i say 06+ civic si, very good car quality wise and looks, meets your parents standards, and with cai/header and reflash you make some decent numbers. w/o voiding warranty.

good luck!

Who says im whining? im just trying to find a nice car within these guidelines sheesh. Nothing wrong with looking for potential although constrained.

You need to go with a car that sells aftermarket parts from the dealer and let the dealer do the work and it should be covered under the warranty....
with a Mazda 3 or 6, you can get Mazdaspeed parts
with a Toyota or Scion, you can get TRD parts
and with a Honda, you can get some dealer parts, and some that arent and they will cover it.
Then you will be able to get the car for free, and keep the parts under the warranty, but make sure you let them do the work, or they can say it was due to improper installation if anything happens.

I agree with a new Si

but...

you can find a new Eclipse GT V6 6spd for that price if you look hard enough. They are pretty quick stock (rated at 263hp but actually make around 225-240whp) and the 6g75 takes extremely well to bolt ons.

as long as they have performance parts through the dealer it should be covered under warranty

like it has been stated before....

they have to prove the part caused the problem
it is offered thru the dealer
anything before and after (intake, exhaust, etc...)the motor is fine (atleast at Ford)

I have been looking at the 4G eclipse...I/H/E they are running mid 13s on stock tune

best mod you can for rwd without voiding the warranty would be high ratio differential. make sure u have a six speed transmission because you will need that last gear for highway crusing. you lose top end speed, but gain alot of acceleration.
