Best place for brakes?
What's the best place around to get your brakes fixed, without getting ass raped by bogus charges and you know you're going to get quality service for a decent price. Thanks

do your own brakes. buy a 6" C-clamp, some coat hangers and a metric socket set.

Thats what I figured, Still it shouldnt be difficult to change brake and rotors. Are you sure your rotors are fucked, If you rub your finger against them and they are still smooth you should be in the clear. If not your looking a pretty hefty bill probably like 500 bucks.

i'm in the same situation as u bro, but i found brembo rotors for 75 and then i got the lifetime brake pad at Autozone for 45 bucks. I'm having my uncle do the labor work for me so if I were u find some cheap rotors and buy new pads and then take it to a friend or a custom/performance shop because Just Brakes doesnt install used rotors.
Help me, Help you by giving me REP POINTS

1. Put car on jack stands, preferably with a jack.
2. Remove your wheel
3. There are two bolts that hold your caliper on to the carrier, remove them
4. Remove caliper from pads
5. Remove pads from carrier
6. There are two bolts that hold the carrier onto the hub, remove them
7. Remove the carrier from the hub
8. There are 1-2 set screws that hold your rotor on, remove them
9. Remove the rotor
10. Install the new rotor
11. Reinstall the set screws
12. Reinstall the carrier
13. Install new pads
14. Reset the caliper piston with the proper tool for doing so
14a. NOTE: Some rear pistons must spin to be properly reset in the caliper
15. Reinstall caliper over pads, re-bolt to the carrier
16. Put your wheel back on
16a. Repeat procedure for other 3 wheels
17. Remove car from jack stands
18. Bed pads as per instructions on brake pad box
18a. If you have cheap pads with no instructions, accelerate to 40mph, then stop the car 5-6 times in very rapid succession, or until pedal feel is as desired.
19. ?????
20. Profit.
Alternatively, just give me some money, and provide the new pads and rotors, four jack stands, a jack, and a shady place to work and Ill install them all for you. (Stainless steel lines and bleeding adds increased time and cost) Guaranteed free of defects from installation, along with free troubleshooting for however long I feel is long enough.Last edited by omgwtfbbq!; 04-28-2008 at 08:55 PM.
