So like do dealerships ever look at themselves?
I had to go to Tampa Hondaland today to get a part. I was really scared to get outta my car. I guess they had some big sale going on. But I pull into the parking lot, they had some tent with about five sales men standing around, then across the building front mixed with the cars another 10 salesman. "Im like oh man, thye are going to attack me" I just barely stood up outta my car and there was already a salesman holding the door open for me asking if I needed anything. I know he had to be really upset when I told him I was just there for parts.

its kind of bad, but i try to look at it from there point of view, they are trying to make a living, and right now, its rough. Plus, its not there fault that the dealership has hired so many damn salespeople, so they try working with what they have. I do not, however, believe that excuses there dishonesty...

I see people out there spending money on the car to improve it … If you spend half that effort just working on your driving skills, making you and the car work together as a team, then you’ll go faster – period. To make the car go a second faster on the track takes a lot more energy and money than making yourself drive it one second faster.– the late Tom Thrash SCCA Solo E Production

Honda ultimate tent event. something like that. I'm at crown honda and i've seen people walk from one end of the showroom to the other and not one salesmen come up to them. It's like a retiree convention where I work.

Most salesmen last about 6 months, they are in constant competition with the other salesmen to be the top dog. That alone makes them vultures just waiting for a customer to pull on the lot.
I work with several salesmen that have been at our dealership for 10 plus years. Those guys are laid back and have somewhat of a customer base of their own and can easily pick out a car customer from someone just visiting the dealership. The rest are sleazy, back stabbing scumbags. I feel if you fail (the it is again) at everything else at life, then become a new car salesman.
Not to derail the thread, but Chrysler went into Bob Wilson Dodge thursday and fired several employees. I hear they embessled $6-9 millon from Chrysler. Should be interesting how this turns out.

I went a couple weeks back and this dude from courtousy Dodge came up to us and was telling me a 350z had a v8 and I had to tell him otherwise and he got into a big ass arguement over it until I told him to unlock it and popped the hood

u guys ever see King of Cars?? its rough being a sales man(post count 2k)
you see its not the blood you spill that gets you what you want, its the blood you share. your family, your friendships, your community. these are the most valuable things a man could have

I'm surprised you were able to get out the store with that big "SUCKER" sign affixed to your back. "
