I do, this isnt even a joke. Im sick of everyday driving and having to worry about others just driving where they want, merging into my lane, cutting me off, riding my ass, all that kind of bull shit plus some. Not that im the worlds perfect driver, but I will be driving down the road, my head will tell me their just going to get in front of me, and what ya know, they cut me off... so i was thinking, so many people keep bitching about gas and how they say if it ever get to 5 dollars they will stop driving, good! i hope it goes above and beyond that. the less people driving the better i think, gas prices is the least of my worries, i drive a car that gets about 35mpg every tank, so i hope prices rise, more people stop driving, and I can just cruise. lol. /end rant.

I hate to burst your bubble but those people saying they will stop driving when gas hits $5/gal are full of shit. They will still drive. Why? Well because Tampa is so spread out you really have no choice. There is no decent public transportation system in place. Those people are not going to get up early to walk to the nearest bus stop and wait on a bus. We as Americans are generally lazy also so I doubt you will see anyone riding bicycles unless they work very close to home, plus who wants to ride a bike in the summer heat in the morning and get rained on in the afternoon? When you are used to the freedom of having your own car most people will not give that up to sit on a bus because it cost them $10 more a week to fill up. It just wont happen. Keep dreaming though.

I made this argument last week at work. The first thing we told in driver's ed class was your drivers licence is a privilege not a right. I also would add owning a car paying insurance, and paying for gas as a privilege also.

My argument was if you can't afford gas good! You probly drive a POS anyways that carries no insurance. I don't like the high prices either, it just adds to the prices of everything else in life. Take my word I've seen it before, but constant whining about it does nothing.
