I made my V8 a V6 to save gas
Yeah, i'm so sick of gas prices rising, and I really love my navigator but spendind half my paycheck on gas is getting worse each week. So i disconnected two fuel injectors to save gas. So far. no engine light on, it runs fine going at 50 mph, and i'm actually getting 15 mpg instead of 12mph before. Now, I just want to know how bad is this for the engine. I take off like a grampa so i don't put a lot of stress on the motor, so I think it'll be fine. But a need a pros opinion. thx

those two cylinders are still sparking, still creating compression, and basically, are detonating.
its going to be rad, when in an attempt to save money, you blow your engine.

As long as I'm sticking it to the man, i don't care what happens. I'm getting my dream job in a month or so, so i'll be making good money to buy the car i want. I just hate these f...ing oil companies and i'm not gonna give them my money, no matter if it's a nano percentage of their profit.

you'd have to pull the plugs on those cylinders too for it to be theoretically safe.
cadillacs used to do this, and GM is trying it again now i think...so is honda on the new accord v6. it's still wear and tear because the pistons are still moving.
now if they had separate cranks that could disengage, it might be a little more feasible. *runs to patent office*
