Only thing I really want to see from a Caliber Srt-4 is the AWD drivetrain put in a Skittle.
Hell-They all are'nt that slow..In my time,I've slayed more Sr20 swapped 240's than I can count on two hands.
BUT,I will agree...80-90% of them are slow, due to non driving.Tampa Racing-Home to 32,581 Retards, and 13 Smart People. This site will never be what it was.

the interiors actually weren't half bad on the caliber srt pictures i saw. i dont think it will be as popular as the neon. there was just something about the neon srt that was love/hate. the caliber looks like a fisher price 'my first pt cruiser on steroids'.
when are domestic companies going to wake up and realize that unpainted plastic IS NOT APPEALING. WWWWWTTTTTFFFFFF.
that skittle up top is pretty cool. but im sure it could be done but who wants to waste time at the salt flats with a turbo i4? other than to say 'we did it'.

I think a lot of our cars have some really good qualities and many are relatively easy to modify. It's fun to see how much performance you've gained since the time that you bought your car. Sometimes people don't have anything good to say, and well, that's OK.
I have a lot of respect for other cars, especially evos, STIs, mustangs, camaros, 'vettes, integras, s2ks, and other SRT vehicles, just to name a few. I'm sure I would have just as much fun or more if I owned one of those cars instead.
It's easy to bash other people's rides, even if they have given you no reason to do so, and I choose not to do that.
The original SRT-4 was such a great bargain, considering the performance you get for the price.
I know a lot of people love to point out that the srt-4 was based on the neon or is in fact a neon lol. With that being said, many cars have had similar, humble beginnings as well, so saying well it's "still a neon," makes a lot of us laugh.
If SRT-4s were "just neons" than no one would look twice at a thread about an SRT-4. If SRT-4s were "just neons" than why do so many people rev their engines at us when we're minding our own business on the road?
Consider these awards won by the SRT-4:- Car and Driver magazine's 2004 John Lingenfelter Memorial Trophy
- Won a Top Ten Car award from Sport Compact Car magazine (SCC) in 2003, 2004, and 2005 - all three years the SRT-4 was produced.
- Named the 2003 Car of the Year by SCC.
- Won numerous comparisons in several U.S. automotive magazines from 2003 to 2005, including:
- 1st place - Car and Driver magazine, November 2005. The SRT-4 competed against 14 other performance vehicles.
- 1st place - Serial Thrillers comparison test, Car and Driver magazine, May 2004.
- 1st place - Automobile magazine, March 2004.
- 1st place - Sport Sedans Comparison, Edmunds, August 2003
- 1st place - Sport Compact Car Shootout, January 2003.
I have a lot of fun with my car, and have met a lot of other owners who are cool and mature to hang out with. I don't think I'm better than anyone else.
I like learning about what I can do with a turbocharged engine, and what not to do.
Honestly, I'm waiting to see the new camaro when it comes out and may be interested in buying it. I'm also waiting to see what the next turbo 4 Dodge puts out after the Caliber dies out.
Wish I could afford a Charger SRT-8! I sat in one at the recent Tampa Bay Int'l Car show and loved it.

& the AWD system in the Caliber R/T will not be able to withstand the torque of the motor. That's why it wasn't carried over to the SRT. It's a pretty basic setup just for a low output motor. Whether there is something in the works, or if someone can do it & make the system reliable...then go right ahead, it would be sick...
The Caliber isn't to pleasant the eye, but it's all they had to play with since there isn't another 4-cylinder to badge. The neon had a very good run, good sales, & a good numbers. Now like mentioned before, a lot of idiots are picking them up, & don't know how to drive these cars or act stupid. But it's like that in any make/model. Caliber has some proven grounds to prove now to see if it's as powerful & reliable as the neon SRT.04 Neon SRT - damn turd needs a motor
99 R1 - sold
94 H2B Integra - sold
95 EG coupe w/ swap - FS

That's a stupid excuse for not making the new SRT-4 AWD. Put some higher quality parts that are able to withstand the power and you will have yourself an excellent vehicle that can make plenty of power and have plenty of traction.
But, since Dodge is retarded, let's keep it front wheel drive and spin all over the road on anything more than stock boost.
