Granny's is outdated, and is no longer supplied by Pyro, who has updated their subrframe to a superior design. ^ They actually contract out another company for making the headers. JTR also has a radiator kit and air intake kit.

6-8k is a good estimate for the swap. My swap should be 4.5-5k.

Im not a huge fan of the s2k. Keep the rotary they dont break!!!!! my 8 is at the dealer getting a new motor right now

na if you read an rx8 forum ALOT of people have had there motor replaced. you also have to keep in mind a new rotary motor is liek 1/4 the price of a regular. Im not SURE what the issue with mine was, but most people get them replaced due to low compression. It for sure wasnt blown by me, its just a rotary thing I guess . Alot of people claim its cheaper for mazda to just replace it rather then fix it.

Its a shame the motor still has issues like it does, It seems like a GREAT car overall and I completely love driving it. I hope they can get the motor issues worked out and make it as reliable as it is fun to drive!

I have a honda it has 105k miles and runs like a champ.. I still like the mazda better though, I would have to dump probably 10k to get my car CLOSE to the handling and braking of the rx8 and sadly, its much slower still (99 integra ls, 5spd very minor mods)

We looked at the s2k but there just WAY to small for us. I like small cars but I am also 6' 210 so I dont want to look like a sardine . I also think there really ugly with the top up, which mine would always be up because I hate the sun and being hot

I still haven't completely decided yet, its still definitely between an ls1 fd or a boosted s2k.. Im gonna test drive an s2k later th is week and see how I feel after that, I sat in one way before I was a "car" guy and thought it was sex..
