Royal purple is good, Amsoil is good too, lucas is good as well...I'm runnin Royal purple oil & tranny fluid, no issues, & I like it...Napa on N. Florida had a whole bunch, ranging from 0w to 20w...I grabbed 6 qts of 5w 2 weeks ago.

dont matter. all dsms have lifter tick. the oil passages for the lifters are just too small, and therefore the oil just can't coat the lifters well enough. higher viscosity and/or thicker oil helps, but doesnt eliminate it. Like Todd said, the 3g lifters are the permanent fix for lifter tick. I'm pretty sure thats what Dane has(DsmInduction).
Royal Purple is a pretty good oil, but its a little too expensive for me. I stick with mobil 1 full syn, I guarantee the inside of my motor is clean as FAWK. The only way RP could possibly damage an engine, IMO, is maybe if the car had a much cheaper oil in it before, and when they switched to RP, existing problems in the engine just became evident. |

I have been running mobil1 synthetic for as long as i had my car, roughly 2 years. I'm going to look into getting Topline revised lifters:
