cam questions
im not really looking for radical cam since my car is my DD and i dont mind my mpg right now.
i have a 92 gt with some bolt ons
im looking at this one :
Edelbrock 2122 - Edelbrock Performer-Plus Cam and Lifter Kits - Overview - SummitRacing.com and was wandering if anyone has had any experience with it, good or bad, and let me know wat u thought. or even u guys more knowledgeable about cams
dont really like too much lope, i like smooth idle, but i do want a little more power all the way through the power band. just to give u guys a hint of want im looking for
right now my setup is just little stuff: "edelbrock rpm 5.0" intake, pulleys, e-fan, headers, exhaust, full msd, 70mm t/body and spacer, 88mm maf, 30lb injectors, cai, timing advanced OBVIOUSLY lol, 160 t-stat, fpr set at 39-40, 1.72 RR's, smog delete with shorter belt, 130amp alt, and factory option 3.08 gears that will be replaced soon. i also plan on spaying a little in the future every once in a while, nothing major

Do you still run the stock E-7 heads? If so a cam will not show much gain if you are still sporting stock heads.

Do your research on the heads. The more money you put into the E-7's... the closer you are to some twisted wedge aluminum. It is easy to get caught up in the stock heads. 500 into stock heads is 500 closer to something with more potential.
Just saying and not trying to deter you.Blessed are those, who in the face of death, focus on the front site.

possible believe it or not, has to do with complete setup and gearing and tire height and driving style.
I had a coupe with power heads (ported big valved e7's) with a big cam, edelbrock intake, 3.73, some lightening and a lot of suspension and I drove it from Lakeland to Lake wales for work (about 37 miles) all highway and got around 23 mpg babying it. (about 8 in town LOL)

No sarcasm at all. N/A 300-350 rwhp with your E-7's with less than 500 dollars worth of work done to them? Not an easy task is what I am saying. Possible but not probable.
Nitrous will get you there and that is undisputed.
The Power Heads CNC'd E-7's mentioned above are 1,110.00 with springs, screw in studs, and guide plates. Then add your 200 dollar core and pay for shipping.Blessed are those, who in the face of death, focus on the front site.
