Thanks guys.
Just waiting to see what John wants to do.
If I can sell the parts for enough money to buy your intakes and carbs and dizzy's then I will go that route. If not I have to work out a trade of some sort. I just dont have the money to spare right now.

If hurstmeister doesn't take your intake I'd be interested in it provided it's in good shape and is definitely an RPM and not a plain performer.
Just keep me in mind. Thanks.

The offer was to help John on his trade.

LoL

Its nice when it works right,.. but seems the second you modify a 5.0 they get temperamental.

I just like a carb because it eliminates 80% of the BS you have to check and chase down.

I fooled around with the car a little bit today.
I found an open EGR port on the back of the head that I forgot about when I put the long tubes in. That settle the idle down somewhat,.. but still loped a little more then I like and border line stalls.

I turned the little screw for the TB blade to open it a little. There isnt a lot of adjustment available,.. at least not with the screw in this one. But That helped it from stalling,.. but now the idle is 'almost' hunting. It goes up to 1000 RPM and runs smooth,.. then settles down and lopes at about 600 for about 15 - 20 seconds,.. then bumps back up to 1000 and smooths out.

How do I reset the TPS voltage Tommy?

Also,.. even though if I get this thing running like I want,. I will STILL want to go carb'd. I'm done with 5.0 EFI. I dont have the patience for it. 4.6 seem to take modifications so much better. They take what ever you do to them and then run better and better. Thats been my experience with the 4.6. The only down side is that the 5.0 is so much easier to work on. The 4.6 is a SOB to get at certain things and with long tubes,.. pfft. Forget it.

Also found that the previous owner had the thermostat in backwards. And had a 196 deg stat in there. I was like WTF?!?
I replaced it with a new Stant 165 deg thermostat and put it in 'correctly' LOL.

Thanks guys.
I still want to do a carb conversion.
And Joe,..good looking out for John. Thanks.

Mustang idle surge and base idle reset

That pretty good info Tommy.
I just printed that up and will try it out tomorrow.

Hopefully this will allow me to take my son out and drive the damn car with out issues,.. and get his first taste of driving a stick.

I still want to swap to carb though,..
