Affordable Covers & More... Underway!
So for most of you regulars, you already know we've been working on getting things up and running for our family business that we moved down here from TN. Well we've got the business registered this week, EIN number up and running, website domain bought, and we're working with a few designers to get the logos done and website up and running! So things are coming together quickly, and we're very happy & blessed to be able to put these things together!
This business, "Covers & More" has been a family business in Chattanooga, TN since 1990, where my Grandfather relocated to be with his parents that were terminally ill. My Grandfather had been a long-time employee at FoMoCo in Chesterfield, MI since the late 50's. He was an integral part of the design work that was put into the 1964 Mustang interiors! Which, is only one of the reasons I've always been drawn to Ford & Mustangs! But it's truly a pleasure and an honor to be able to carry the torch that my Grandfather lit many years ago, passed to my Uncle (Eddie: 01cobra96gt), and now that He & I can continue the family tradition here in FL!
We have chose to slightly rename our company now, and the name is Affordable Covers & More, and we've decided to go with the slogan of "We've Got You Covered!" - because we DO! Anything involving covers, interiors, upholstery, auto glass & trim - we can handle! Our website address is going to be www.affordablecoversandmore.com and our email address (temporary until the website is designed completely) is affordablecoversandmore@gmail.com!
Just wanted to post up, let you gaggots know that we're ready for business! Anything you need - if it involves fabric - we can do it! Here's a few ideas of things we offer:- Custom Automotive Upholstery

Sweet, I'll get some Army canvass (shelter halves) and let you know when I have some seats picked out. I'll need the headliner done too.

we've been doing the same thing (marine upholstery, carpeting, etc. everything but canvas) here for almost 10 years.
hope you guys arent getting in over your head. it is really tough here right now. we are busy but only because most of the competition has gone out of business. most of the smaller suppliers (one of which supplies most of the automotive upholstery shops around here) are running very little stock and might not last another 6 months. almost everything has to be ordered and we are having to wait at least a week or more to get anything.Last edited by Duceanahalf; 02-11-2009 at 06:14 PM.

Thanks for the heads up man, but as mentioned, our family has been in this business since 1990. No worries
We're not doing this to get rich overnight, we're doing this to continue something we're passionate about & continue a family tradition. Our goals are realistic and obtainable
We have a large supply of most of the materials that we use on a regular basis (fabrics, stainless steel for boat enclosures, threads, bobbins, bindings in every color under the rainbow, zippers, etc), and for special order supplies, we have account reps that we've done business with for nearly 20 years at large suppliers like John Boyle, Southland, Keyston Bros, etc.

just saying that i hope you guys are not gonna have to worry about keeping the doors open for a while. the whole industry has been very slow for the last 6-7 months and abnormally slow for about 6 months longer. most places cant afford to stay going with the little business thats out there right now. however you guys seem pretty diversified. best of luck

Are you guys capable of recovering a leather steering wheel from a '93 cobra? If so, how much would you guys charge?

^ +1. I could use a fitted(ish) tarp for my motorcycle if you can make that kinda stuff. Appearance doesn't matter in the least as long as it covers my baby, keeps her dry, doesn't scratch her up, and is durable as all hell.

Guys, you can call or email anytime:
affordablecoversandmore@gmail.com

727-455-7734 Cell
Josh or Eddie
We can do plaid to black conversion, we can do 40 ft scarab boat cover, we can redo door panel carpets - can do them carpet, vinyl, leather, headliner material, whatever you want - customized or stock-like, we can do the motorcycle cover - look good and be functional as all hell!
Unfortunately, the only thing(s) we're not going to be able to handle is the black t-backs for Mikey P
and the recovering of the Cobra Steering Wheel. Now we can relace a leather cover onto the stock wheel - but you can do that at home, it'd not be cost-effective for you to bring us that business (true story).
Deuce, yeah man, Uncle learned at the hand of my Grandfather, and he was more of a jack-of-all-trades than anything. So we were not just an upholstery shop, we were alot of the "more" in the Covers & More! Doing aluminum and stainless steel framing for boats, doing all sorts of odd jobs for small business owners (office furniture, gym equipment, etc). Thanks for the heads up, we're just going to take the future as it comes man, plan for the best, pray for the best, and put our best work out there for others to see!!!!!!
