George Washington was the head of the army and delt directly with congress to get supplies and direction. Negoitated with the french during the war for support and tactics. He played a huge role in our victory against the british by commanding the army for the 8 years it took to achieve a victory. He helped write the constitution and all that before he became the president. Not sure what his lack of experience was. Not like the congress was really in place when he started his career but he played in politics of helping to support the congress and decleration. Needless to say he was a damn good president. Ronald Regan served two terms as govener of California. He was involved in polictics before 1962 when he formally switched from being a democrat to a republican. Was involved in presidential run for barry goldwater. I will say that he had less experience then the farmers mentioned above but even he has more experience then obama, considering he was on the job for 8 years and helped with presidental campaigning for his party before he bothered to run himself. As for Bush being a failure i've not agreed with everything he has done but in the general scope of what he has had to deal with I can't say he has failed. The economy was falling and then we had sept 11. Not exactly the easiest run for the president. I can't think of another president in anywhere near recent history that had to deal with as much. I'm glad that we haven't been attacked here since then. I'm glad Saddam got his ass hung. I don't like the U.N. and am glad that bush pulled us back from that nonsense, also glad it came out about how corrupt they were. Found it funny about france/russia dealings with Iraq and how the head of the U.N. son was getting money from the deal. I think bush will be remembered alot better then he is now. On that note I hope the next guy is better then bush was. McCaine's military experince tells me has has pride in his country and is proud of his country. I'm sure i'm not the only one who thinks this but it's America first. I could care less about most other places and obama doesn't seem to feeel that way. |

I love it
The republicans say they set up the financial plan, made the money and blame the democrats for the failures in the economy. We'll just forget the trillions of cash lost in an endless religious war we got ourselves tied into and the poor lives of our fallen soldiers while all the old men sit in their highback chairs smoking cigars. If they were so patriotic they would go fight too, if McCain is such a badass then go fight over there instead of just visiting with millions of our dollars worth of security so he doesn't get his ass shot . I'm not saying Obama is our answer, but at least he has a voice. Listening to McCain is like listening to the same old lame broken record of every republican since I've listened to since the 80's . If it were AMERICA FIRST then we would not be spending billions on another country "helping" them to achieve a democracy they did not ask for . If it were AMERICA FIRST, we would be making our american cars state side and not outsourcing our business to India. If it were AMERICA FIRST we would take MORE than the 25% of the pipeline oil we get from Alaska not shipping the rest to CHINA, and not burn the natural gas off into the atmosphere. But what do we all know?

Uhmm the "holy war" as you suggest is driven by the muslim religion, no one else, and since they feel that anyone who does not believe like them should be killed or enslaved, I'm guessing this "holy war" will be around for awhile.
McCain did his time, had an opportunity to get out early, and gave it to another prisoner, that's called "character". I doubt we're shipping 24% of Alaskan oil to China, maybe fatass Michael Moore and his conspiracy theorist have a different take. The natural gas has to be burned off since it unfeasable at this time to do anyhting cost effective with it since most oil wells are in remote locations, that however , is starting to change. Yeah we spent billions of dollars helping Iraq and tearing down the berlin wall and on Britain in WW2, but it beats the crap out of the alternative, just ask the Kurds if Hussein didn't have WMDs, he killed over 100K of them. As far as cars go, that's market driven, Ford f150s got outsold the last couple of months becaus everybody is buying ricers, but sooner or later someones gonna have to buy a 150 to haul that hybrid around after the battery craps out.
