Well that sucks,.. there was supposed to be 5.0 and 5.8 versions going in the next gen Mustangs with the 6.2 possibly making limited run appearance. Finally Ford was making a large bore block that had serious potential to compete with GM's LSx motors,.. and they wipe their nose with the program? So what now,.. the 4.6 and 5.4 get blowers to keep up?
The V10 is a gas hog,.. the 5.4 likes to drink it up too. The 4.6 doesnt have the balls in a truck to keep up. The whole reason I got a Chevy truck instead of Ford or Dodge. I like my 450 - 475 miles per tank vs 325 - 375 per tank for F150 and even less in the Dodge. Even though I think the F150 itself is a better truck. (sigh) Hurst |

While I would love to see a big bore block in the stangs straight off the dealership floor, I think if ford gets the direct injection technology in the mod motor we will not need all the cubes of the 6.2 or 5.8. A 5.0 aluminum big bore block with the direct injection should make some sweet numbers.
Now if they would offer a turbo setup instead of the top heavy S/Cers plus an aluminum block I think the SVT's could really be a killer on the corners as well as straight line. |
