bingo! Everybody has the opportunity to help themselves. No body gives me anything and I make it just fine in the world and pay my share of responsibility. Respect and help is earned not given because you are born. I am tired of this bullshit! |

yup!
It doesn't really matter where you live, it matters how you live. like the post said before "behavior not color". I am not responsible for anybody's life or well being except my own and my family. I am not responsible for somebody's poor financial decisions. I do not live past my means and expect some one else to cover it for me. I don't eat at Caraba's every night when I have a "once a week winn dixie budget". The list goes on and you get my meaning. I think that if some one does get help from somewhere they should pay it back and not complain about where it comes from. There is not enough room on this web to continue, I think you are "picking up what I am putting down"..... Stew Last edited by Stewart Scott : 05-18-2008 at 04:14 PM. |

You guys can look at it that way,.. but I disagree.
A little history first. I'm white,.. lets get that out of the way. I grew up in SE Wash DC. For anyone that knows the area,.. thats black ghetto turf,.. white cops dont go there and you better not be there if you dont have business there. My mother was a drunk and my brother and I ended up in the the district social services. Lived in several group homes and foster families. Most all were black. My foster mother,.. (god rest her soul) was black. I have more respect for that woman then either of my good for nothing parents. So with that sort of hind sight,.. I know what its like to live and breath in the ghetto. The thing that most of you dont understand is that living like that,.. the kids dont know anything else. Most have never been more then 20 miles from their house if that far. They know very little of what its like anywhere else other then from what they see on TV and hear on the radio. I got out because I had a foster mother who cared. I was involved in big brother program and I was shown what its like outside of the ghetto. I didnt want to end up like most that I saw. I made the change. I agree,.. someone has to want to change,.. but if someone doesnt know any other life,.. then what can they possibly hope to change for? They do need help,.. they do need more education and services to show the kids that there is a way out. its hard,.. most have mothers who dont give a shit,.. no idea who their father is. Its rough. I've been there. There is a lot old Bill could do to help out other then preach the same shit over and over again. Hurst Last edited by Hurstmeister : 05-20-2008 at 12:43 AM. |
