Nor can it be said that it's hard to have pride in your heritage because alot of people have so many different kinds of people in their background. (not color wise but country) I bet alot of the people that have posted don't have other races in their bloodline.

On the american pride issue that doesn't matter what color or creed you are. It really doesn't matter. I know blacks, mexicans, asians and indians (feather and dot ) that have pride in this country so it really doesn't matter where you are from. If you are an american then be an american not and african american or any other form of american.

I fully agree with that 100%.
How ever in this politically correct era that will never happen. Not when politicians have an economic agenda and offending minorities can get you labeled as a racist thus being black labeled by those funding campaigns.

Anyway the topic was about white pride and being proud to be white. Teddy Roosevelt's speech has little to do with white pride. He was asking those of a foreign decent to lay loyalty to the American flag. Are you referring to American pride or white pride? There is a difference.

I kinda understand where this thread derived from. Basically if a minority gets into a conflict with person of white decent they can lay down a race card and bring the argument to another level. Then its up to the white person to prove its not. Blah blah,.. I've experienced it myself. I got into a fight with a black guy. Kicked the shit out of him. He threw the race card in court stating I called him the N-word among other things. I had to take racial sensitivity class because of it. I'm still rpoud to be white. But I'm not going to bring myself to the level of people like that by wanting a national white pride day,.. or a miss white america. It would create hostility from exactly those who we are trying to say,.. we are proud to be white.

How many here listen to rap music? How many here talk to each other using ghetto lingo with fake 'gansta' attitudes? How many white people do that? Alot. I was at the race track on gandy one night. Young guy,.. maybe 17 - 18. He approached me and said he liked my car. I showed him under the hood and explained what my plans were for the car. He seemed like a nice educated kid. 2 cars pull up (imports LoL) and he knew the people in the cars. Suddenly his entire demeanor changed from white suburban to black urban. I remember thinking,.. WFT? Got in my car and left. Now tell me,.. is that white pride?

I lived in Mississippi for 18 yrs. and everyday saw racism rite as I was growin up! I've never had a problem with any other race ever until I moved here and saw tha true nature of other people. Is racism ok? Hell no but sometimes u people bring hatred on urself by tha way u act!

$50 says there is a Puerto Rico flag hanging from the mirror or some sticker on the car with that flag. I have nothing against Ricans,.. dont get me wrong. My last GF was a Rican chica,.. see this subject is a little crazy for me. i live in a city where the majority is black. we (as far as i remember) hold the title for the highest black to white ratio in the USA. believe me when i say racism has no bounds, no skin tone, or style of speech. every day while i'm around town i hear little cracks about white people all day. i don't want to sound like a racist prick (i'm far from it, i have dated many a black chick) but how long can people sit and wait for a handout. everyone has the same opportunity to advance their life for the better. it just saddens me that there are people out there (all races) who just think the world should be given to them on a silver platter. around here that mentality is predominant in the black community. hell, i hated going to family events with one of my ex's. i used to get the "jungle fever" comment all the time from her dad. her grand father used to sit around and accuse me of being with her just so i could make her my personal servant, like i'm some wanna be slave owning son-of-a-bitch. man where they wrong. her friends used to pat her back and congratulate her for finding a "white man with good credit". news flash, not all whites have that, especially me. so long story short and to summarize. racism is racism, no matter the skin tone.
