I was speaking with somebody that also said Toyota doesn't give you dick on a trade in on them....batteries are to be replaced after several years...too much cash involved.

Yep these inbreds, oops, I mean hybrids are a joke. As an example they have a nicad battery that lasts approximately 4 years, then they cost about $3500 to replace, imagine buying a used car only to find the battery craps out a few months later. From a firefighting standpoint these cars are horrible as well. imagine trying to cut someone out of a car with a 300 volt electrical system that cannot be totally isolated.
The idea is not new, diesel-electric locomtatives have been around forever. They need to go away and we need to do more with alternative fuels.
