What keeps your project car on the back burner?
Thought I'd share my hobby/passion that has put the Mustang on the back burner for the time being....mountain biking. I had an old Cannondale sitting idle for quite some time and decided to pick the sport back up last year to lose some weight, get back into shape, and get back outdoors. Later on I took the plunge and purchased a full suspension bike. Almost one year later, thousands of dollars in the hole, and about 20-lbs lighter...I'm friggin hooked on the sport and I'm starting to expand into the realm of XC (aka cross-country) racing.
Below is the aftermath from my first race last weekend (big thanks to Dave, his wife, and my wife for the support). The rain storm from the day before provided two of the trails with about 1-2 miles of deep water and sticky mud. I really don't like riding through that shit, but there was really no choice and no way to go around it. The bike was trashed. After two laps: ![]() Post race carnage: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() After a quick clean: ![]() Now all torn down and super clean. Mud/water killed my bottom bracket so I'm waiting on the new one to come in so I can reassemble the bike. Don't pay attention to that cheap adjustable wrench... ![]() ![]() So aside from your Mustang/Ford, what other hobbies do you guys/girls have? |

Being poor and running a martial arts school. I go to more tournaments than I can count. $100 a pop minimum if it's local....More if I have to spend the night. About 2 or 3 per month if I'm lucky.

The fact that I can't do everything on my car myself and have to wait for other people to fuck around and fuck around and fuck around and bullshit me until I'm about ready to strangle a kitten before they actually get working on my car.
