so im over here in cocoa and theres a mustang club.. anyways long story short i went out to one of there get togthers and noone really talked to anyone they all just talk to who they know and not anyone new.. anyways i pulled out of there and left some rubber behind and i got bashed today on there fourm... i asked if they would like to race and they only race on the track noone street races.. i understand the risk factor involved in street racing but if you have a car and do all these mods to it why wouldnt you want to push it a lil bit on the street.. i mean theres only so many times you can go to the track b4 you get bored am i right?

Okay. You're young. I can tell that already. So you're at a disadvantage dealing with most of these people.
Don't burnout while leaving. Don't get on the road and floor it. In fact, unless you're actually racing someone, don't even rev your engine around groups of people. It attracts unwanted attention and its ricey behavior...thats something 16 year old punks in Honda Civics do. Your car isn't really impressive to anyone unless its fucking wicked, like sub 10 seconds on the 1/4 at the slowest. And even then, peopel will shake their heads at that sort of behavior. Yeah, they race on the street, and no, they'll never tell you where if they don't like/know/trust you. Thats why they all still have their cars and D/Ls. When groups have regular meets like that some place, it's usually with the property owners approval and they don't like it when idiots raise hell at them because then people complain and then the club gets kicked out of that spot and gets a negative reputation...
And not everyone with a fast car street races dude.....after all, it is against the law and it does endanger other people.....

I agree...most Mustang "club" people are not wanting that kind of activity. If you want to be around Mustang guys who love to take their vehicles to the limit go to a test and tune night at a real dragstrip...there are a ton of Mustangs at Sunshine in Clwr every Wednesday...I know it's a long haul from where you are at but I'm sure any dragstrip close to you is no different than the ones here.
Nothing wrong with lighting them up on the street either...but doing it when leaving a club meet is sure to get you on their bad side... That is why I am not a part of Mustang clubs...I prefer to drive mine over looking at it in a parking lot meet...(it's ugly anyways....LOL) |
