A woman I know on a dog message board lost everything today in the fires in California. She could only take so much stuff at one time, so she grabbed her dogs (forgot their meds) and went to load up horses. Only one was still alive. She got him out okay. She lost everything else. She had only the clothes on her back. She had bags packed by the front door, but authorities wouldn't let her back to get them.

She lost 5 horses, 1 cat, and all other possessions.

thank goodness for closeknit groups. Everyone on the board is gathering up clothes and gift cards and mailing them to another board member that lives nearby. Her Vet office burned down, too, so she has no records to be able to obtain the meds one of her dogs needs. She was able to get one of the meds, but the other is strictly regulated or something, so she's having a hard time.

For christ sake, she doesn't even have a place to sleep tonight.

I'm sorry to hear about the woman and her animals.

As for california and fires that is alot of thier own fault. They have regulated logging and forest clearing so much that you have alot of dry wood and debris. That state is known to make decisions that end up being wrong but take awhile to correct them. (think mountian lions if you think i'm mistake)
Hope they ease their laws on logging and hope that it gets these fires back under control.

Fires can move extremely fast. From what I've read the winds are blowing 60 +MPH.

You know what pisses me off? All I see on the news of this tonight is, "oh no, which movie celebrities are being affected?" Who the fuck cares, those fucks all have two, three, four plus houses and money means nothing to them.....I'm personally pretty much fucking sick of rich fuck celebrities and I can name a few I wish burned up in the fires along with their mansions....

Yeah, I know about half a dozen women from that board that live in that area, and all are "regular" people. BTW, just found out the lady was able to find a hotel. Most hotels are booked up.

Also found out that the reason she had such short notice was because she was out helping others transport their horses to safety since she had a truck and trailer. She didn't know her farm was in immediate danger.

So there ya go. She lost everything because she was helping others. Say something else, asshole.
