All of them showed up. I have 200 pictures but a hi-definition camera
takes forever for me to download/share them with you. I'm working on that. A couple articles.....

Segregating by car doesn't work well.
I've been to meets where they went to the extra work of segregating by car.
They needed more staff and there was a gapeing hole in the middle. I would rather park next to someone I don't know and make a new friend and to shoot some bull about his car and his club. I'm no snob. I get along with everybody. If you like your car, I like your car too. That's why I keep getting invitations to lots of meets.........even bike shows and hot rod meets.

Mystery meat 2 let everyone park where you wanted to. Roll in together, park together. You can be darn sure that if there was any gaps of parking spaces on Sunday, it would have been filled in. I parked in the best free metered space in the place. The lot next to me was empty when I rolled in. It was filled within the hour and the lots
to the North of me were filled within another hour. There were some people coughing up $20 to park and didn't know that two blocks away it was $5 privately and $6 through the city. I saw some more free spaces near the high-end-ridin'-low, guys.

Open hoods are a meet!
You heard me say it before: A car with closed hood is just a parked car, but an open hood? Open hoods are a meet!
I was glad to see an increasing number of females bringing out their cars. It was not a requirement that a person drive a show car to have a good time. I probably walked over 5 miles, shot pics until my battery went dead and looked at every car up there. Saw a lot of the new stuff that people are doing to their cars. No negatives from me. I love the car scene and I respect everyone's car.

When I was in the men's rest room, I saw high heels in one of the stalls. Two of the 813 Customs chicks found a shorter line that at the women's. I thought it was pretty cool that everyone was a gentleman.

He rolled in late, but there was a turbocharged diesel Rat Rod. There were a couple non-exotic cars worth $100,000
One of the donks was so high, the cop could have driven his motorcycle under it.... LOL I was over there shooting the bull with those guys too. Pride in your ride, man! Real car folks don't care what someone drives. Next time you see me, say Hi
to Senor Honda! Show me some stuff on your car.-Bob

and another............
I'm sincerely greatful that we are all free to choose the cars we like and fix them the way we want them to be.
If you like stance, stance it, if you like paint, paint it, if you like noise, noise it. If you like your car, then I like your car.

There are plans underway to have an event at Downtown Disney with 3 days in the sun on pavement and $150 to enter and park, or $75 per day for people who can't take the heat for more than one day.
So far they have 143 cars out of 150 reserved spots. Mystery Meat 2 had considerably more cars. I don't see it as an "advertise more" situation. I see it as an Import Alliance situation where it's tough to find places to hold their meets anymore.

Some people paid $20 to park in the sun. Some paid $10. Two blocks away you could park in a shady garage owned by the city
for $6 or privately in the sun for $5. I have developed a taste for parking garages like Fast/Furious/Tokyo Drift (without the racing) having been to Sibling Rivalry a few times. At MM2 I chose "close to the action" instead of shade. I parked for free.
No one knows how many spaces to save for Italian imports at Vortex, and No one knows how many spaces to save for Corvettes at Reeves. No one knows or can plan exactly how many of any kind of car will show anywhere, and I would never tell a person who loved the car scene that they could not park next to anyone. All parking should be first come, first parked. Roll in together, park together. Less work for the organizers who charged people nothing.

Some observations......
Couple things killing the scene for hot rods is that 1. when the older guys die, their kid is not into the hot rod scene. 2. Most kids can't buy a mustang for $2500 and take eight years to re-build it. So they buy imports and most young people don't have the cash to get it done all at once, so of course they look bad while the car is being worked on as it's being driven. As a person makes more money they buy more expensive imports 'cuz they like the scene.

It's my understanding that Paul Walker generally drove rear wheel drive Mitsubishi's in the Fast/Furious movies, and yes he will eventually die, as will most people reading this. Walker has found a way to earn a living and have a good time doing it.....and so have I. Mystery Meat 2 was better than last year and it will be better for 2014.-Bob
