I need a set of rota's 17x7 42-47mm offset that can clear my brembo brakes on my Spec-V I have had too many sets get delivered ups only to call and have to send them back "they don't fit" and before you ask I know 35mm offset S13 wheels fit and clear hwever they are NOT legal for SCCA B-Stock. I'll take some S-13 wheels if we can machine the backspacing to accomidate the rule book. you are allowed to charge me a little extra for the trouble if your willing to help test fit some options.
Thank you -TK on TR |

i have one set of 17x7.5 rota d2 in +35 and also i can test fit one set of rota 17x7.5 boost in +45 (the customer just picked it up, but i can arrange to have the wheels here for a test fit within the next few weeks, what has been the offset of the other rotas you've ordered? we maybe able to get the set of d2 on your car and also order a set of h&r spacers to fill out the rest of the remaining space so you are within the +42-47(i assume that's what the rule book want you to be in) if you have a chance, swing by and we'll have a look ![]() edit: infact, if the normal wheels for a s13 fits, i am sure the d2 will fit because they are not offset by the face but instead material is built upon the back of the wheel, it should give a decent clearance on your brakes and we maybe able to get a 10mm spacers from h&r to put you at +45 currently, rota only has the 16x7 subzero 5x114.3 +40 in a royal silver there is more +45 selections if you don't mind +45, i can get you sports grey and royal gunmetal in +45, thanks |

I think you have it reversed. I have positive offset by adding a spacer it's going to bring the offset lower. so a 35mm Wheel with a 10mm spacer would actually take the dynamic offset to 25mm or 10mm closer to a Zero offset. At this point if you would sell me a set of Volk TE-37's or anything that we know will fit. if we find a S13 (4x114.3 66.1 mm hub 35mm offset) wheel that has plenty of clearance, then we would have to find someone with a large lathe to cut back 7mm of material. I do not have rota's right now the last set of wheels I had sent to me were Team Dynamics Pro race 1.2 these will work for the rear of the car in a pinch but I am very upset with the companay that sent them to me. since I ordered pro race 1's which have much more brake clearance and are lighter. And I have no paitence for incompedence when it comes to getting the Correct race parts. 14 years racing 3 of which was operating my own shop. when I order somthing I expect it to fit. so you can understand my anger. and as for the 16x7's if I downgrade my car to a "standard" SER then I would need to run 16x6.5" wheels. and loose the 6 speed. it's not a good thing.
What rotas are the STI and Evo guys using to clear their brakes, since mine are G35/350z calipers there HAS to be a soloution. even if I have to pay.. I would go nismo/rays but they are 7.5" and thus illegal for SCCA. |

and I don't care about color style etc etc. these are race parts. if they were clownshoe red with white polkadots I'd take them If it gets me to shave 1/2 a second off my lap times. and most everything I'm looking at is +45mm offset. since that's the standard replaement for the factory +47 and well within range. but they must be light. money is not my focus.
problems arise since you cannot compare 7.5" 35mm vs 7.0" 35mm since the 7.5 will have another .25 inch of clearance @ the identical offset. which you can measure away but the least obsticales the better. like I said. I'll take OZ's Volks anything that works and is light. some uber exotic japanese funk is fine too, as long as it works! I actually like the idea of the JSPL rota even in that mint green color but it's f'in light. and mabye bright green wheels on an orange car is a statement. Jeff |

typical evo and sti uses a +40 or a +45 but they typically run a 17x8
what does the rules require you to have? a 17x7 +42 to +47? you are right, adding a spacer will take away fromt he offset, i was thinking reversed ![]() let me look into it more tomorrow and i'll let you know the volks or axis wheels will allow more brake clearance front and rear. what's the brake set up that you have? |

They are nissan factory V-Specification Brembo race calipers. factory wheels are 47mm and the rulebook specifically states factory wheel width and diameter with +/- .25" in offset.(.25 x 25.4 = +/- 6.35 mm) so I really could go anywhere from a +40.65 mm to a +53.35 mm (the closer I legally get to the lower number the better) more track helps increase the dynamic caster and camber I am allready lacking adjustment and in stock class and will allow use of a 235mm front tire. it's these small changes that mean winning a national championship and driving back from topeka kansas with your tail between your legs. if we find a 40mm wheel that fits I'm okay with being .65mm out of wack If i'm that compeditive by next year i'll have them modified to within specs. you don't get protested if you don't win.
