boxmod makes top 16 at nopi

taken from EVERYTHINGDRIFT.COM

"Update: 7:30PM(PST) 6/9/07

16 Chelsea Denofa
15 Matt Waldin
14 Erin Sanford
13 Andy Sapp
12 Dan Willie
11 Damien Bagley
10 Dennis George
9 Stewart Leask
8 Nathan Brasz
7 Blake Fuller
6 Jason Jiovani
5 Jonathin Martin
4 Mike Swartz
3 Sammy Tiger
2 Bill Sherman
1 Kenji Yamanaka

Notables:
- Rob Fleming blew his KA Turbo motor on his first run. Leaving pieces on the track and a long cleanup for oil, couldnt fix it in time.
-Nick Hogan looked good in practice, but a spin on 1 run and losing drift in another kept him out of Top 16
- Robbie Unser looked amazing in practice, but spun on 1 run and lost the drift in another causing him to remain out of Top 16
- James Evans missed the last qualifier spot by 1/2 point

Tomorrow will have some great tandem battles, be sure to stay tuned for full coverage!"

yes, but the way the politics are in FD, the 2nd tier of competitors are not allowed to advance very far. There are about 10 drivers who actually have a shot at the final 4, everyone else literally needs a miracle to make it that far.

Case in point Bill CLEARLY beat Sam in WV, but did not get the victory.

NOPI has done a really good job of actually judging the DRIVERS instead of sponsors and keeping the bs out of it. It is a PROFESSIONAL series, and the pay-outs are actually better than FD. FD has made it clear that they do not want their "stars" in NOPI, but everyone else is welcome to participate and get better. my $.02

yeah i understand the logistics behind it, but i was under the impression that the Nopi series was for those who didnt have a shot at FD. i think the FD guys have a slight upper hand on the whole series, and pretty soon, money will be the limiting factor once again to break into the series, just as FD did.
