Back to the Track

Went to the track last night. Wanted to test out the new clutch combo and freshened tranny. Pulled into the track. No Cooldown, no tire pressure check, no race gas.

1st few runs were bad. 60's were 1.8, then 2.2, then 2.0. Got 2 12.60s and a 13.2 or some crap. Traps started at 110, then moved to 114. Boost started at about 12 psi and got to about 18 psi.

Finally got an ok pass with a 1.79 60'. 12.05 @ 116. Boost was a little better at this point. 16psi creeping to 20 over 7000 rpm.

I finally decided to let the car cool for about 30 minutes and try one more time. This time the spun the tires horribly, but still got a 1.69 60'. I nailed the 1-2 shift. Got a 7.60 @ 92 in the 1/8th. Then I was slow to shift on the 2-3 and even lifted for the 3-4. Managed an 11.900 @ 115.

I was overall happy. Car is still WAY out of tune and never got a good clean pass. Next week it gets the good gas and about 8 more pounds of boost... maybe more?

Force Fed, The car has gone 11.39 @ 125 with the bad tranny. Thats with about 6 pounds more boost and Race Gas.

Glad to hear you are getting the new stuff sorted, I was looking for that 10 second pass the other night. Maybe next week.

Ha! Not that night Scott. I don't think I could hope for a 10 second pump gas pass. We will see about the Race gas pass.
