Pros Vs Cons: Le Baron Turbo

I found one for sale and have always had an interest in these. $500, local, convertible.

I do not know whether is the 2.2l or the 2.5l, but it is an automatic.

Just looking for pros and cons of either motor and the car itselfs.

K body or J body?

I always liked the looks of the K body Conv's over the newer ones. The 2.2 and 2.5's have always been dependable and forgiving and are almost identical other than a balance shaft in the 2.5.

I didn;t have a problem intercooling
motors are easy to find and cheap
there's YEARS of support within everything
the stock motors are good for low 12's
transmission can take ALOT

I was working on one of them once, the cat was clogged and as a result the excess exhaust and carbon jammed the wastegate shut. so it was running full boost!. I'm not going to lie till 4,000 RPM's it was fun as hell, once it hit fuel cut it died down, but man that thing pulled like hell! For that price i'd give it a shot.
