you do know then just because you replace a rod that was knocking doesnt mean it fixed the problem right? anyway, heres a way to tell, go start your car and while its idling...pull the spark plug from the #1 cylinder if the knocking stops you have a spun rod bearing(repeat this with cylinders #2-4, but be careful, you can get shocked easily if you arent) anyway only disconnect one plug at a time, but like I said if the knocking stops after any cylinder, you have a spun rod bearing, by pulling the plug, you are removing the spark, which takes the load off the piston/rod assembly, chances are if it sounds like a rod knock, then it is, that is assuming you know what a rod knock sounds like

that statement makes no sense. rod knock means one or more of your rods are banging(knocking) against something. so when you say you bought a new one what did you buy?
and dont think where its coming from stick your head in there and listen. first put your ear just above the valve cover, see if its there. then go under the car and listen. where ever its louder that is usually where its at. does the knocking get faster as you rev?

or you could do things the easy way take a long piece of heater hose and put one end up to your ear and put the other on various places of the block and head and what not. this will make it much much easier to hear whats goin on without havin to listen to all the other bs in the engine bay
