What do you guys think?
I am thinking I may start making these Fender brace’s for Honda/Acura.
I just wanted to get some feed back on them. (This is just a quick MS Paint) ![]() For the people that don't know what they do "Reinforce and reduce flexes on the front chassis" If you have ever jacked up your can in the front and set it on jack stands you would have seen the front kind of bend forward. Well, that is chassis flex. It does this wile you are driving as well. LMK what you guys think? |

Thats exactly what I made, except the part where it bolts over the wheel well I welded in place because there isnt an easy solution to make a bolt in solution there.
They are awesome but mine now squeek alot. Go get some gasket paper from the auto store and make gaskets for all the bolts and put RTV sealent and put a little on the theads of the bolts going into the door hinges. I also gusseted(sp?) them on all three corners for extra support. |

If you can make them as a bolt-on kit, I think you can make some money.
A lot of Honda folks are bolt-on types, instead of fabricators.....and for sure, Hondas flex a bit.-Bob |

![]() the reason being is with it right where it is, there is a moment arm being created for the tubes to yield. Only an inch or two it looks like in your drawing, so you will get better triangulation and stiffness overall if you move it further to the right. In addition, the chance of a fatigue failure will be reduced which is of utmost importance. Granted I dont know what tubing diameters, wall thickness, or steel type & filler you are using, but this modification to the design would be a better one but i like the idea and concept overall, good luck Last edited by BLUE2KSS : 07-27-2008 at 04:57 AM. |

If you look at the ones I made, the vertical bar is actually welded to the door hinge brackets that bolt between the door hinge and the chassis.
