Is you car one of those with adjustable nuts/bolts,
like a CRX that can be screwed in vertically to lift the
lower control arms?

It will usually be at the torsion bar front.-Bob

I would have to look at it to see why it is not working as designed.

The previous owner may have modified something that he
should not have. The weight should not have destroyed the height adjuster.

All shocks that have the coil spring "over" the shock are coilovers.
Adjustable coilovers are shocks where the height can be adjusted.

While I admire creative solutions, (I have done a few of those myself)
I would have to do some measuring, first, to see if adjustable coilovers will solve the problem.....plus check a few other things.

What happens when you run the torsion bar adjuster nut/bolt all the way in the opposite direction?

What part of town are you in? Maybe Sunday/tomorrow I could swing by on my way and take a look.-No charge.-Bob

i loostened the tortion bar adjuster nut all the way down and it pretty much slammed the car all the way down with it as tight as i can get it, and i mean tight, the new strut only has about a half inch of travel, i have 17's on it but that shouldnt matter rite the shock needs more travel than that, i live in the florida highlands in between dunnellon and marion oaks about 15 minutes from the withalacochie river, and i cant find any coil overs that have the bottom mount like my front shocks, they just slide in the nuckle and tighten thats it

Holy poot! When I made the offer of a drive-by, I thought you were in Tampa............

So if running the nut all the way down slammed the car down, what would be the result of putting in a longer bolt, and running the adjuster nut all the way up?

As to finding an adjustable coilover solution, If the car was
at my place, I could find a solution. A lot of things will interchange. It's tough to guess over a long distance when I cannot measure things.-Bob

Not to be evasive, but it would take too much typing to adequately get across what needs to be measured, and one misunderstanding by either of us would mean 1.that it's not done right, 2.that you get a bad installation, and 3.I would get blamed and a bad reputation over it.

I've never messed up someone's car, and yours will not be the first.

The best solution for now, is to figure out why the stock adjusters are not working and fix them, instead of getting into re-engineering.-Bob

I looked through my research/development pile, and I now know why/how
to fix your front torsion bars.

If you drive down, I can fix them. If not, you might go to a recycler/junk yard and get another set complete with tubes. Let me know how much they are asking for the torsion bars and the tubes they come in.

It still might be cheaper to make the drive to Tampa.-Bob
