What Turbo is Better
The 35r or PTE 67rlsp in a .63 housing "AMS 37R"
The 35R comes on strong The 37R is very linear with its power band Low boost--- 22psi and below The 35R comes on harder with more power hitting peak boost quicker for a longer hold and solid wall of power! The 37R comes on smoother and ramps up making the same power but for lesser period of time! This would make it seem that the 35r is a way funner turbo, with alot of torque. High Boost This is where the 37r shines, at psi levels greater than 34psi the 37r leaves the 35r in the dust by sometimes up to 70hp. Here is the thing, if you want to just make numbers, the 37r is for you!!! If you want to have a blast everyday and make great power with minum lag the 35r is for you! If you don't mind the lag and love the top end power the 37r is good for you expecially if you want 700whp on boost alone. If you love torque with that instant yank of a v8 pull getting side ways and having fun!!! 35R is the way to go!!! you can still make 630whp!!!! and have fun doing it!!! Here is my problem~~~~ How many times will you be at high boost with race gas in your car? How many times will you have to run over 34psi to make it worth haveing a bigger turbo? The majority of people that drive there car daily are on low boost till the weekends or at the track! Low boost the 37R is 3-600 rpm laggier than the 35r and if not well tuned almost 1000rpm laggier. Is it worth it on a daily driver? I say no I say at lower boost levels the 37r makes the same power as 35r with more lag! If you only have a weekend car or track car 37R all the way!!!! If you have a daily driver that you still take out to dominate on the weekends 35R all the way!!!! I say go with a 35r, and have a 60 shot of nos for the weekends, there you go!!!! The best of both worlds!!!! I'm at work and bored with nothing other to do, and this is an arguement I've been having with myself for quite sometime. Now its out for discussion!!! Please tell me what you think!!! |

The 37R. You crack me up
The GT35RLS is great for 550whp - 580whp depending upon the setup. And the .63 A/R turbine housing is booby You're asking that .63 A/R turbine todo alot. For 580whp - 650whp I would recommend a PT-67RLS with a P trim wheel and larger A/R turbine housing. For 650whp - 780whp I would recommend a PT-67RLS with a Q trim turbine wheel and larger A/R turbine housing. Anything above that your on your own

And a PT-67RLS with a Q trim turbine wheel and larger A/R turbine housing is capable of making close to or the same power as a GT42R for a lot less
Uses older style wheels though. I know people trapping 148MPH - 156MPH with it
