35r is more than capable on a well built motor with a knowledgable tuner...case and point a k20 (stock cams, factory sized valves, a pocket port job from me) at my old shop was putting down 630 @28 psi on our mustang dyno (sti's baseline 210 on it)...its all about effiency in and out (manifolds and head) and then combustion effiecieny (pressure, CR, cams, rod ratio, etc...)
choose wisely or have an engineer and porter on your side we can pull power out of no where I'm also not a fan of the 37r...I'd either run a 35 or a 40...either that or look at the borg line up...I was going to run the s372 for nhra sport rwd but have since opted to go all out

Holy grave digging......
35r for what I have 2.4/2.3 stroker is the best turbo to use, the trade off for the amount of lag you get vs the additional 40whp power gain over the 35r isn't worth it. 35r + 125 shot is the way to go imo, you get an awsome fun street car with minimal lag and the shot to handle the big boys whenever needed. If I need a bigger turbo I will lower displacement and go with a 42r but at that point it will be a track car. The reason why is because it will be no fun on the street unless I 2stepp and brake boost the hell out of it everywhere. My car shouldn't weigh more than 2500lbs when I'm completely done with it I hope. It will go on a strict diet once it comes out the chasis shop if it's any heavier than that. So 35r and spray should be more than enough for me. This car is powered by a T4 GT35R w/120shot and has a dog box Goes 9.0 @ 160 DogBox Talon 90 160mph - Putfile After I kill a few trannies, I might have to get a dog box too Last edited by THE_ONE : 09-25-2007 at 04:37 AM. |

yeah, the 2.4/2.3 strokers handle a .95 TS 4088R about like a 2.0 handles a .82 hotside 35R...and like wise a 35 like a 2.0 handles a 30...so for a streetable turbo you pretty spot on...
the real question is .82 or 1.06 Had a subie 2.7 stroker (road race car on 278/274 cams) on a 1.06 hostided 35r and it was quite happy and should suit you well considering the exhuast energy you will still have over the subie. and sorry for the grave digging, didn't realize how old it was until I posted |
