e36 5-speed swapping viable?

parts cost, all depending on what your looking for, say from and m3/325/328 year etc., sometimes you can find base trans' for around 200-500$.parts are easy to find, but could get a tad bit costly, could be double what a 240sx would be, but just as easy.

just depends where you find the parts and considering most parts you would need arent ones that are needed often, so id imagine if anyone has them they'd let them go for donuts.

Yep... like my black '93 325i with a 5-speed. $2500 obo.

If you'd rather get all the parts to convert yours, I can swap everything over for $700... takes a day and a half for everything, including the wiring. It's relatively easy if you've done a few before (I have), but it's definitely not a novice project, and a lift and power tools are almost required, as well as some soldering skills.

You won't be able to buy the whole car from a junkyard, but that's by far the easiest and cheapest place to get all the parts you need, since you can see everything that you wouldn't necessarily think of if you were buying the parts elsewhere.

Easiest way: buy an e36 with a money shifted/blown engine. Swap in your engine and there you go.

500/700$ will buy you all the parts you need; but its so bitchy and complicated just fuck it.
