Glad to see we've settled things ladies...but the point of the thread was not to determine whether or not a squid is someone who wears full leathers or not. It's a damn forum, have some fun for once and get the stick out of your ass. Take a picture of yourself riding naked for all I give a shit. If I wanted a thread with people riding without gear, I would've labeled "The Squids of Tampa who don't ride with full leathers".

Let me ask you this JH, define a squid, in bike terms, and how you could spot one. And don't tell me you can't just by looking at them.

he wont be laughing at me bc you will never catch me with my arai helmet any where but my head. and if im going to be riding around the corner yeah i may not put on my LEATHER (NOT MESH) jacket but for longer rides yeah im going to be wearing it. and i have yet to crash because like the other guy said its not all about the gear but being aware of your surroundings. yeah im sure one day i will crash but until then you wont be saying shit about me getting scraped knees

I never say anything about being better than anyone...I promote the movement of safety equipment as I see first hand what happens when you dont have any on. Im not talking in an ER...im talking on the streets pronounced dead because they have so much rash their organs are at one with pavement.

I've witness several crashes as well as personally experienced a lowside with a JR pheonix jacket. On all accounts very little damage to the jacket and no rash on the riders. Not saying its better then leather but it does work. Plus they have hybrid jackets with a combo of leather and mesh. You want to stay cool with a leather jacket then a perfd Vanson is a must. Flows just like mesh.

You're a fucking dipshit. You've contradicted everything you've said so far. According to this thread title, a squid is anyone not wearing gear.

Im pretty sure that if you were smart enough to decipher what i've been saying the entire time, I dont really classify someone a squid based on their gear. You cant just look at someone and know they're a squid. But you fucking throttle jockey assclowns who see anyone without gear instantly think they're a squid. I would classify a squid as someone who rides for the wrong reasons and completely out of their skill level, or just ride like complete jackasses. Like the assholes who leave a light and start swerving like they are warming up their tires in NASCAR, or the people who putt along in traffic constantly reving everytime the see a girl, or the people who ride with no shirt, no helmet and 2 bottles of gel in their hair, just to get people to look at them. I dont base it on how much gear they may or may not wear. If someone wants to ride without a lid or in sandals or shorts, then hey, thats all on them. I hope you have fun when they are scraping asphalt out of your toes.

I never leave the house without at least gloves, my helmet, pants and proper footwear. I wear my jacket sometimes, but I ride in what makes me feel comfortable. If I go down, because someone pulled out in front of me, then hey, thats the hand I was dealt and its my fault to deal with whatever rash I end up with. But I also ride within my limits as to not put myself at any extra risk then whats already out there. But if I know that were going out to a secluded spot to fuck around then i'll gear up and wear my jacket, and my extra elbow armor and spine protector underneath. But I could personally care less about who wears what, and how other people protect themselves. It just makes you guys look like a bunch of faggot conformist to say ATGATT makes you a better rider than someone else, or that someone doesn't know how to handle or control a bike based on what attire they are in.

Im not disagreeing with you about alot of squids not wearing gear. But im saying is not every person you see without gear is a squid. And the biggest point I was trying to convey, was who fucking cares if someone else wants to ride around without gear? I think its just as stupid as you, but its their own right. No reason for all you ass clowns to go on a fucking Fred Phelps spree preaching about it.
