Default Cafe Racers. The next big thing?

I've always loved old school British iron, and cafe racers of any kind.
I just watched this move Brittown I got from netflix. It was pretty good.
These old bikes are just badass. And the people that ride 'em and build 'em always seem to be cool.
Here are some promos from the film.

Frankly, I'm really surprised that this isn't a bigger scene. Though cafe bikes do seem to be makinga resurgence. Cafe bikes are all about the bare essentials of motorcycles, fun and individuality. Its really the old school rat-rod approach to motorcycling.

Not only is it the cost but actually finding an 60's or even 70's triumph, nortion or bsa would be hard to come by.

Actually the old Triumphs aren't too hard to come by. And they are cheaper than they used to be. Especially since Triumph brought back the new Bonneville and the Thruxton a few years ago. (I ride a thruxton.) The new Triumphs have the style of the old ones but better performance and easier to maintain. I paid $4600 for my '04 900CC Thruxton used, two years ago with 3500 miles.
You can customize one any way you want. Lots of options:

speaking of dirt bikes, there is a Scrambler version...good for trail riding.

You aren't limited to british bikes either. There are lots of other Cafe style bikes. Kawasaki built the W650 awhile back in 2000. They are really nice.

And there is a dude named Carpy that makes some mean old school cafe bikes from old busted and unwanted 1970's Honda CB750's.

Original CB750

You can pretty much build a cafe bike out of anything. Use your imagination.
They aren't the fastest bikes, but they are shit tons of fun.

I almost picked up a 78 Suzuki RD400 a few months ago. It would have been a bad ass cafe racer.

You forgot the quintessential Trump knock-off, the Yamaha XS650. Great bikes, actually.
