Nascar hasn't caught on yet that race cars get beat up and are not laser straight
after a few races, especially if you do tire testing and race the same car often.

Once the race teams find out how much a frame can be distorted and still pass, that will be the EXACT amount of distortion.....since some teams put distortion in the frame purposely as "crash damage", trying to get that smidgen of an edge.

RACER Staff / Image by LAT Matt Kenseth's No. 20 Joe Gibbs Racing Camry failed the postrace laser inspection system platform after winning Sunday's Sprint Cup race in New Hampshire, and the team is expected to face penalties this week.
The second-place Stewart-Haas Racing No. 14 Chevrolet of Tony Stewart passed laser inspection and will also go to NASCAR's R&D Center for further evaluation.
Even with a penalty, which has usually been a docking of 15 points and a $25,000 fine for the crew chief, Kenseth's two wins should keep him locked in a spot for the Chase for the Sprint Cup Championship.
The cars of Joey Logano (third), Kevin Harvick (fourth) and Greg Biffle (fifth) and the random selection, seventh-place finsher Ryan Newman, all cleared inspection.
