SCCA National Tour: Dixie
Anyone headed up to the Dixie National Tour in March? I'm in for SMF and I have a co driver from Atlanta, this should be fun.
It's nice that this one is happening because its closer than Atlanta which isn't on the tour schedule this year.
If anyone is going to head up maybe we could meet up on the highway and head up together.if you can only race me in a straight line then whats the point

I see people out there spending money on the car to improve it … If you spend half that effort just working on your driving skills, making you and the car work together as a team, then you’ll go faster – period. To make the car go a second faster on the track takes a lot more energy and money than making yourself drive it one second faster.– the late Tom Thrash SCCA Solo E Production

Tod and I decided to take our Grassroots Motorsports $2012 Challenge TR8. We need to do a little fine tuning, and a road trip seemed like a fun idea.
Angie, do you know what hotel you will be staying at?
(I'm so sorry, I meant to say ... "at which you will be staying".)
Danny bested our GRM TR8 in his B-stock Boxster on Bridgestones, so we don't plan to win F-prepared unless no one else shows up.
But Tod did comment that, in a straight line, she pulls like a Cayman R.
To those who best us: Congratulations, you just beat a $2012 car.
And if we manage to beat anyone at all ...... Hurray!Cobra Kai Racing - Sweep the leg.

Hi Spin

Not sure which hotel yet, JBrett, my co-driver, is checking around for a low price and to see where the Atlanta team is staying at. I'll let you know because they usually find good deals and the rooms aren't a nightmare.
Kevin, from Team Atlanta, is in your class and he'll be good competition for you guys. He's a good guy and also does Lemons racing so he'll enjoy your car. His fiance, Sofia, will be driving in the Ladies class.
Which day are you guys leaving for up there? I am thinking of leaving Thursday afternoon but I am waiting on the schedule to be released to know what time test n tune will be on Friday.Last edited by chi town brat; 01-27-2012 at 09:55 AM.

There is a test and tune on Friday?
I had no idea, I've never been to one of these.
Our original plan was to work a 1/2 day on the Friday, then head up.
I'd like to stay at a hotel with other participants, so let us know where you finally decide to stay. We will at least get something close by.
I think I have met Kevin. But Tod and I recently decided to share the TR8 and both drive in FP.
I'll probably have to sand bag a little so I don't make Tod look to bad.
Tod does not go to this site, right?
Time to go to a Karate class to learn leg sweeps.Cobra Kai Racing - Sweep the leg.

We may be able to make it!
you can't claim FTD when the rules require a DOT tire!

Scott I "think" you can stay overnight at the track, in Atlanta they did not allow it. I remember when I went a couple of years ago you could. You can check with Deena with the SCCA.

Days Inn it is.
I still can't find the scheduling for the weekend. Usually they have a page up for it but since the redesign of the site I am not sure where it will all be.
New tires are being mounted today, yAy!if you can only race me in a straight line then whats the point

Still on the fence about going...no one's entered in CS. I know, we're all waiting for the first guy, but not sure I want to drop $100 plus travel expenses to chase S2000s around the course.
