HK-R .. Spy Photos .. $2010 GRM Challenge
Here are some "Spy Photos" from the Hello Kitty Racing Skunk Werks. It is being built for the $2010 Grassroots Motorsports $2010 Challenge.
The car is in progress, so this is not the "done" car. It still needs the highlights added to the horses. The paint job is a copy of the Tim Allen, More Power, Home improvement, Saleen Mustang.
Note that the driver seat is cloaked in order to hide a secret weapon from competitors. The secret weapon is alleged to somehow magically add 110 HP, and reduce the vehicles mass by 20%.
We plan to have it out at the PCA autocross at the Sarasota Dog Track on Sunday 8-29-10.Cobra Kai Racing - Sweep the leg.

Is that a 2nd Place FAST sticker covering the Antenna Hole?
Tod, Go Win A FTD sticker ASAP! We need the sticker.
Hey FAST guys, every car entered in the GRM Challenge gets a photo in the magazine. You Guys are going to be famous, and you didn't even have to pay for a sponsorship.

Sorry, no real build thread with photos etc.
The Car went to Byram's Speed Shoppe' on Saturday.
Hopefully it will have the horse details painted on the sides before Sunday's Sarasota Autocross.
I heard rumors that a Ferrari Mechanic will be assisting us with the car, for free.
It's good to have friends.

You'll have to earn the FTD sticker, but if you need or want any FAST stickers, we'll hook you up!
My wife had a mechanic she took her car to when we met. Certified Ferrari mechanic. He took her for a ride in a 512 boxer once. Went to his shop a couple of times, nondescript metal building in a sketchy part of town. Always a couple of Italy's finest sitting around. And yet, he was always willing to work on her crappy 84 Dodge Daytona. Just had to help him push the Lotus Europa out of the garage first.Drew Scoda

Tod tells me the HKR Mustang now has a flowing mane, and fire in her eyes.
I'm hoping he's talking about the paint. Thanks George.Cobra Kai Racing - Sweep the leg.

The Hello Kitty Racing Mustang had the 3rd fastest time on Sunday. Woo Hoo??
That's out of 72 cars with Danny Driving. Danny had first in the modified Cayman S from Suncoast, a WRX in 2nd, the HK-R in 3rd. (I'm pretty sure those first 2 cars cost more than $2010)
I rode with Danny driving and with Tod driving; I plan to keep my Boxster.
Besides the rear shock adjust the gereral consensus was more rear tire and more gas in the tank. It got more rear tire today.
We plan to be out at Z-hills 5 days before the GRM challenge for final testing.
Oh, and Tod is making me clean it up under the Hood..... My plan was to weld it shut.

Rear tires larger than the fronts will generally make understeer worse.
What rear axle does it have? If it's got the 8.8 rear that they put in the gt's, a used track-loc factory posi diff would be very helpful and it should be rebuilt with fresh clutch discs.Drew Scoda

Thanks Drew.
Danny Shields drove the car. We have one more test autocross before the big show.
We asked him about more gas in the tank and 275s on the back and he said, "Yes".
The front end really seemed to stick well on Sunday, but the back did feel very, very light and squirrelly. I'm thinking Danny's suggestions make sense. And since we are testing, we can always adjust after Danny drives it again at Zephyrhills.
I think it has a Turbo Coupe rear with 3.73 gears. Rob would know for sure, I just do paint.
I'm spoiled by ABS. I think it needs that more than anything else.
Tod and Danny drove it so they could give a better response; I was merely a passenger (thanking god that I own a Boxster
