Sarasota - Porsche Rookie Autocross 4-19
I just thought I should post something for people who live to the South.
The Porsche club is having a Rookie/Novice autocross at the Sarasota Dog Track on April 19th. (I had not informed the Almighty "Word" because the date was not confirmed.) Basic autocross instruction in the morning followed by a mini timed event in the afternoon.
The real intent of the school is to encourage Porsche drivers who are somewhat new to the sport to pick up some basic skills. This is not a Porsche only event though. $20 for members, $30 for non-members, a nice lunch usually provided by Suncoast Porsche.
8 am tech and registration, 9 am start.
People that want a real competition should go to the FAST event in Brooksville, but if you live 5 minutes from the dog track, you might find it worth while to help out in the morning, and enjoy a 4-5 run autocross in the afternoon.
P.S.
I'll be teaching at this thing, so dont expect much.
If, if Danny shows up, it will be a lot of bang for the buck.

Thanks for the heads up I'll be coming with a CRX. Used to be a PCA member a few years back, moved onto SCCA Club Racing.

I have a friend that wants to attend.
My guess is there will be plenty of instructors since it's a rookie autocross?Patrick -

Really nice weather. Great free lunch from Suncoast Motorsports.
I had my first drive in an S-2000, and it scared me a bit when the v-tec hit.
VenWood, nice car. I've always liked the CRX
