Default Oct 11 - Track Event / Enduro

Here's what the 2008 Southern Sprint has become. Should be fun!

Event Flyer

The event location will be the European Rally School track in Starke. We'll be doing a Test & Tune event for Solo qualified drivers in the morning in conjunction with a driver's school for less experienced drivers. The afternoon will be devoted to an endurance race for low-buck race cars.

More details (on the race in particular) will be posted on the website soon, but if you feel froggy... registration is open!

Registration for the Test & Tune OR the School is just $150. Registration for the race is $200/car plus $50/driver. Two drivers are required to register a car.

Being a week before the Texas race, it should be attractive to a lot of people. Of course, even if you're not looking to do TX... if you've got a beater race car, it's a good opportunity to go race it!

Kris and I will be in New orleans that weekend. We are doing a company charity event. And for some training later that week.

Also since the BMW engine has a slight knock. Not sure it would go 4 hours.

I have not had the time to get the spare engine ready. Something about getting the bathroom done in the house and having a working shower takes prioroties.

Barry, when you want to pull the motor call me, I need the work.. i can pull the head and do all that work at home, I'll get the die grinder out for a quick port and polish. or I can do the bearings while I'm there.

I don't have a flow bench but a "free" port match and smoothing won't hurt.

TAJRacing is sad to say that we are officially pulling the plug on the Texas event due to the economic conditions of our team and focusing our efforts on our grand assult of the 4 hour enduro at Starke.
We'll register shortly on the website and we'll see you all in Starke!

Cool! But keep a bit of a lid on your canceling TX. We really don't want to seem like we're pulling folks away from the TX race. That wasn't our intent.

Glad to have you, though! And the rules for the race should be up on the website by Friday.

I highly doubt that anyone needs a co-driver, but if so, hit me up. Loren and maybe even Jeff may vouch for my complete lack of skill. If someone actually needs a co driver and wants detailed experience info, just PM me. But for summary, lots of autox, some rallyx, multiple track days, solo qualified with every group I run with, lemons driver.

I really really doubt my next LeMons car will be built by oct 11th (but if the S2000 sells really fast there's a slight chance) otherwise I'd just register myself.

Need to go trolling at the local dirt track among their 4-cylinder and import classes. "Pssst... hey, man... wanna try something REALLY fun?"

Of course, then you'd have to teach them how to turn right and how to set up a car.
