SCCA Brooskville 3/29 and 3/30

One week left to register for this event, don't miss out!

Gate opens shortly after 7:00AM (as soon as I have a gate worker, any volunteers?) and closes at 9:00AM. Registration open until 9:00AM. Costs are $30 per day for SCCA members. Non-members can purchase a weekend membership for $15.

Be aware that the registration link above is used to compile an access list that is submitted to the airport. If you will have non-driving guest, please make note of that or register them separately. We cannot allow anyone on site that is not on this list. The list must be submitted to the airport 8 days prior to the event weekend. There are no exceptions made as it would jeopardize our ability to use the site. We appreciate everyones' continued cooperation and understanding.

Please pass the word along in other forums as well.

The SCCA East Coast has been posting up on the cfrsol2 site flyers and course maps prior to the event. Not to mention the quick posting of the results. Any chance of seeing the West coast doing this?

Thanks

Doubt it, but...

If you or someone else want to coordinate this, you are welcome too.

1. I think Albert used to do our flyers, or you can find out who does the east coasts and get with them and start designing the west coast's.

2. Brian usually does our course maps, although anyone is welcome to design a course for any event. It just has to be approved by a safety steward at least a week in advance. I can give you Brian's contact info.

3. Results have been posted fairly quickly, at least better than in the past. Not sure much can be done about that. Talk the SCCA webmaster into giving you a login and you could grab the results at the event and then upload them that same night.

See, this is the great thing about the SCCA, if you don't like something, get involved and change it. That's what I did.

Cool with me to become more involved Thank you for letting me know.

I have Brian's email.

I have Alberts contact information from the Brooksville meeting that happened between all the clubs, but if I can't find it do you have it?

Again, thanks for the heads up.

He is kind of hard to get a hold of though.

Old thread here, but I'm looking ahead at the May 17 practice day. If I want to run for just that one day, what is it going to cost me? I read $35 for non-members on the CFR website. Or will it be the $30+$15 number I'm reading here? $45 is a lot of scratch for one day of autocrossing.

How many runs do you usually get on a Saturday practice? I've heard that in some cases the car count has been so low that everybody got as many runs as they wanted. That might be enough to persuade me that $45 is worth it.

Pretty sure it's $40 for non-members. $15 of that is for a temporary weekend membership. So if you pay $40 for Saturday and then if you come back Sunday, it will only cost $25 for Sunday.

Yes, you get a lot of runs.

3/29 we got 20-21 runs.
3/30 we did 5 competition runs in the morning and then fun runs in the afternoon. I don't recall exactly, but you probably could have done another 10 in the afternoon.

Sat - Final Results - Brooksville CFR West Practice - 2008-03-29
Sun - Final Results, #3 - Brooksville 3-30-08 - 2008-03-30

It was a very interesting course because you had to know where to handle the car with percision so that the run would be clean.

I'll definitely be out there the next time the SCCA rolls through in July. At this point just starting out in AutoX I'm looking for all the seat time I can get, preferably large amounts at once so I can really focus on improving various aspects of my driving. I dropped a second from one run to the next at my last event simply by staying on the throttle longer and braking harder on straights- I still have a lot to learn.

I signed up for a test and tune at Gainesville Raceway "road course" on Apr. 27 and I think I'm going to skip racing in May to focus on getting started in a new job. But after that I'm going to try to hit at least one and maybe two events a month.
