Key West - The Bay Bottom Crawl
Okay I may have the title of the event wrong but I remember that it was posted in here for last October and I was trying to get a look ahead on it for this year.
It was a 3.5 mile or something insane like that autox course held in Key West and near the water because I remember if you lose control the car and you go for a swim. Anyone? Anyone? Last edited by Loren : 06-07-2006 at 12:27 PM. Reason: clarity of title |

It's called the "Bay Bottom Crawl." Here's the org's site: www.evscc.com/
I was just thinking about this event too. Didn't have my car for last-year's, but it looks like tons of fun. |

Wow, that looks neat.
I'm a total novice at this, but I went to that Mazda driving thing last year and it seems like that guy is breaking some of the basic rules they set- is he coasting in neutral through some of those slaloms? They told us never to do that, to always keep it in gear. |

The Bay Bottom Crawl is a blast!
A really fun group of car people. More about having fun than the competition. I have my reservations in again for this year - is interested get hotel reservations early and you can always cancel. For rookies to the BBC, plan on being there Friday afternoon for the open course walking and the required novice orientation and drive thru. They put together a real nice welcome reception - including food and drinks. Sat Am - rookies get a slow speed drive thru before the event starts. If you are comfortable autocrosssing and remember slow in fast out of the exercises - you will be safe. Just allow a extra safety margin. They assign run groups and everyone takes one lap at a time. Sat is all practice and then dinner banquet. Sunday is fun competition. Plan on seing everyone there and as the date gets closer maybe we can caravan down together.
