Hey
As per Lorens demands, he said I should post up in here I know you guys have a school coming up at primus which is a really nice course. Just a bit too much money for me, when is the next local auto-x I can come out and get to learn my car better and have fun. And of course meet some new ppl?
Maybe I should search, but id figure this would be a good way of introducing and asking at the same time

you could try the scca event at sebring on sat/sun, or gcac in ft myers. Since you are new, you would probably benefit from the gcac novice school/testntune on saturday. gcac

Mars, if you go up in the stickies, you'll see a schedule post. It's got all of the "local" (within 2-4 hours of here) autox clubs and their events listed.
There's usually a thread going here for nearby events with people talking smack about who's going and all that. There's one about events this weekend if you look for it.
The Primus Track event would not be the thing for you. It's intended for people with some driving experience (at least a few autocrosses) as there is a little more danger involved. A regular autocross is much safer and is the best place to gain some basic skills.

The Sebring auto-xs are a great place to start. The course is larger, you'll reach some higher speeds, but it's wide open with nothing to really fear about hitting.
I had watched a few auto-xs but the Sebring one was my first a few years back.
