The Big Three
I started my big three upgrade today. Was only able to get one wire done, the one from negative battery to chassis. I am going to do the engine to chassis wire tomorrow. and the one from the alternator to battery positive is going to be a pita because im doing this in a ford escape. I can already tell a slight difference in the vehicle,as far as the brightness of my lights. This should be a simple upgrade for anybody to do.

i will try and post pics up. The next wire I am doing is the one from the engine to chassis. It is easily seen in my engine bay on the passenegr side. The alternator wire is gonna be fun becaus ethe alt. is located at the rear bottom part of the bay.

You're going to spend as much time taking out and putting away tools as you are actually doing the install, the big three shouldnt take more than a half hour in a difficult car. But whatever works for you. My alt. is pretty far down too...wratchet extensions and long arms work though, at least in my car, but prepare to get your arm dirty if youre reaching down. Good luck, you should see noticeable results.

i would have but i checked out my battery connections and the bolt for the negative terminal had stripped and was not making a tight connection. so i went out and bought a new one. I had to cut the old one off and put it into the new one.

My post's intent was lighthearted banter. Dalton was the one that took it two steps over. Don't pit me in with him.

For the engine to chassis connection, you might want to use several smaller wires (like 8 ga.) from different parts of your engine. Several of the horsepower mags have tested this, and found between 3 and 10 hp. The concept is that it gives good grounds to your sensors...they typically run on 5v signals, so a good ground makes them more accurate.

I do agree though that multiple engine grounds work better than one main ground... |
