quick headunit installation question

ok i took out my old stock headunit on my 95 240sx.. and i did everything right so far but now i dont know what to do.. the power wire is different from the car.. it wont connect.. on my previous 92 240 the power wire match perfectly.. heres a pic if u dont understand what i am talking about


this is from the car... (2 things)




and this is from my alpine headunit (1 hole)




any ideas what to do? i am sorta a newb.. so i duno

Yea looks like your missing the wiring harness for the Alpine cd player,The hole thing your holding is for the antenna.

looks like your antenna has a dual wire post instead of a wire surround wire normal setup. Your local bb/ cc should be able to sell you an adapter for it. They may not have it in stock, but hey are generally under $10

oh ok thanks.. ill pick one up tom..

ok well it still wont power up for some reason.. im not sure why.. i just got the 240 and the stock radio never powered on.. so i check the fuses which i replaced the radio fuse.. still no go. the alpine headunit still doesnt power on.. idk what to do now.. argg

Just run new power wire and accessory wire from the ignition column and run a ground wire to a sanded point against the chassis.

Dealing with old stock harnesses is a hassle that is better skipped.

Also, if I remeber right, 240's used a seperate ground on the chassis of the radio...its not in the harness. Most of the aftermarket harnesses have a black wire for you to hook your headunit to, but if you look, it doesn't connect to anything in the factory harness. You'll need to run a new ground, which like dalton said, isn't a bad idea anyway.

umm the ground on a 240 s13-14 the ant is the ground....just in case no one new also yes its a ant adapter which plugs the stock one in and comes with another for the headunit...
