sub question

ok im building my new system and im trying to decide what subs to go with they will be powered by 2 Powerbass ASA-2000.1D amps. Ive been looking at the Orion HCCA-10.2, Audioque HDC310, and the Fi BTL10 the car is being built for daily use and use in Usaci Streetbeat 2. If you have anything that will help me decide let me know.

thx ahead of time

Its not suggested to run the BTL 10 for daily. The woofer has geometry problems and can be damaged if over-excurded. But the problems are just the nature of such a sub.

What kind of car will it be going into? And whats the budget for the pair of subs? And do they have to be 10s, or would you entertain the thought of 12s also?

its going into a 2002 civic coupe facing in the cab from the trunk (sealed off from trunk so all the pressure is in the cab part i forget what that called at the monent) i really dont want to spend much more than 600 and i want to stick with 10's so i can stay in streetbeat 2 .

Umm Scott will not build a BTL 10 for streetbeat... They are special order and strictly for burping. Why not a 9510 or a HDC310?

Maybe something like 2 10L7s would work better. Just wire to 4 ohms for daily so you dont fry em, and when its time to get on that meter, drop it down to 1 ohm. L7s do great in installs like this, where you're lookin for a couple smaller subs, but still lookin for good output on music and good numbers on a meter. Another option would maybe be 2 Fi BL 10s, 2 RE SX 10s, 2 T3 TSS 10s, etc. Only one out of those that I would think about giving 2krms daily is the TSS. Even then, Im not too sure. I still say the 2 10L7s would be a great route if you wired the amps up for daily.

Another option would be run a single, bigger woofer and a single, bigger amp. Maybe like a T3 Audio TSNS 10" and a Sundown SAZ-3000D? As said, a DD 9510 would be nice, but the sound quality on them is iffy at best, imo.

I still say the 2 10L8s would be perfect for this kind of install if you wired the amps to a higher impedance for daily usage, then loaded them down when it came time to meter.

I'd give the BLs 2kw rms at 1ohm or higher all day ..

Never heard a BL.... But a single loaded BL would do 2krms?

While waiting on my set-up to be installed I let my buddy install one of my BL 15s on his Kicker 2500.1... took it like a champ!
