i grounded my wire ran it to a switch and ran the wire from the t.v. to the other side of the switch and mine works great, just takes mine a few seconds and it comes right on everytime

Yes. It's illegal. You WILL get a ticket. That being said, i've never gotten one.

Or you could ground the wire. Even easier.

that only works on the older and cheaper ones. i dont know the details but im shure someone here can explain it.

Alpine, pioneer, and eclipse decks require a sequence of events to unlock. Something like ebrake on, ebrake off, drive, brake, ebrake off

lol i had a lady bring her car back 3 times because she couldn't grasp the concept that you have to have the e-brake on to type in the destination on her g.p.s. she kept insisting that her g.p.s. wasn't working properly. Toyota wont let me bypass any safety features...for good reason. i don't think any shop should. but that dose not mean its not possible. what model dvd player is it? im shure dalton will tell you how to build some fancy switchboard with relays to get it to work

My Eclipse doesn't require this.. mine is grounded, and I'm good to go.
